Vertebrates are animals with a backbone or spinal column. They're grouped into classes like mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and fish. These creatures possess internal skeletons, allowing for greater body support and protection. Vertebrates often have well-developed nervous systems, enabling advanced behaviors and adaptability.

Invertebrates, on the other hand, lack a backbone. This vast group comprises around 97% of all animal species on Earth. Invertebrates encompass a vast array of creatures such as insects, mollusks, arachnids, worms, and more. Despite their diverse forms and structures, they share the absence of a spinal column.
