On Friday, Joe Biden alleged that his potential 2024 election rival, Republican Donald Trump, was responsible for inciting the Jan. 6 riots and planning retaliation against those aiming to hold him accountable.

The president emphasized the preservation of U.S. democracy as a focal point in his reelection campaign.

“He told the crowd to fight like hell. And all hell was unleashed,” Biden said. “Then as usual he left the dirty work to others. He retreated to the White House.”

On the third anniversary of the January 6, 2021, attacks, Joe Biden delivered his inaugural major campaign speech of the year, directing scrutiny towards Trump as he confronts inquiries about his management of the U.S. economy and his age at 81, while Trump is 77.

The impact of Biden’s speech on Friday, a decade ahead of Election Day, remains uncertain in a politically divided nation where voters receive information from diverse sources, Reuters reported.
