Dem Rep. Crockett: Congress Needs To Put Up 'Additional Safeguards' Against Trump

Crockett: “It is the cult-like mentality that we see that is becoming pervasive in this country when there say that he’s our ruler. It doesn’t matter what he does. He can violate the law, we should just ignore it. We should not ignore it. We have never accepted this from anybody else and the only reason we’re facing a crisis right now is because he wants to act as if the Constitution doesn’t apply to him. Well, I have news for him. If he wants to be in this country, where we believe in democracy, then he needs to abide by our laws, as well as the Constitution. And until we get — you know, if Trump really may have a shot at getting into the White House, I agree, this should be a bipartisan issue. We need to go ahead, as Congress, get together and make sure that we put up some additional safeguards because right now the courts are confused about who can enforce what and how.”
