Truk Atoll, WW2, 1944: F6F Hellcat pilot lands on an aircraft carrier after taking flak damage while strafing Japanese positions. The cockpit and windshield show evidence of flak damage and human casualty as the windshield is blotted with blood. The pilot (name unknown) received a 40mm anti-aircraft burst in the face while low strafing. Ground crews rush to help the pilot out of the plane.
