Ⓜ️🚇 Named after the Georgian theater and film director and founder of the Georgian theater, the Marjanishvili metro station on the Akhmeteli-Varketili line is one of the oldest stations in Tbilisi. Construction began in the early 1950s, and on January 11, 1966, the station was opened with another five stations as part of the first original section of metro line from Didube to Rustaveli.

The only entrance to the Marjanishvili station, located in the Chugureti district, is situated at Marjanishvili Square at the intersection of David Aghmashenebeli Avenue and Kote Marjanishvili Street. In this video, we invite you to join us in descending to a depth of 46 meters, where this triple-vaulted pylon station is located. The southern wall of the station is adorned with a sculpted portrait of Kote Marjanishvili, who gave his name to the station.
