Turkish authorities arrested 33 persons on suspicion of conducting espionage activities on behalf of Israel, local media reported on Tuesday.
The arrest operation took place over eight provinces.
The Chief Prosecutor’s Office in Istanbul issued arrest warrants against a total of 46 suspects as part of an investigation into alleged activities in the country against foreign residents by Israel’s Mossad national intelligence agency.
Erdogan's warning: Israel to pay heavy price for espionage.

"Should they venture to take such a step, the repercussions will be so profound that they'll be unable to stand tall again," Erdogan has warned in response to recent reports of Israeli espionage activities in Türkiye.

Israeli drone struck targeted Hamas office in Beirut suburb killing 4 — Lebanese state agency.
BEIRUT (AP) — Saleh Arouri, the deputy political head of Hamas and a founder of the group’s military wing, had been in Israel’s sights for years before he was killed in a drone strike in a southern suburb of Beirut on Tuesday.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had threatened to kill him even before Hamas carried out its deadly surprise attack on Israel on Oct. 7, sparking the ongoing brutal war in Gaza.

Turkey's annual inflation rate approached 65 percent in December, reaching a new high for 2023 and putting the country on course to meet an expected peak of 70-75 percent in May.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's new team of market-friendly economists expects inflation to start falling from near record highs within four months.
The rate reached a decades-long high of 85 percent in October of 2022 and then fell off before resuming a steady climb.

Turkey will raise the minimum wage by 49% in the new year, close to a level that several Wall Street lenders have warned would complicate the central bank’s efforts to curb inflation.

Jan. 15, 2024 - 10 Tevet - A siege on Jerusalem by proxies of Iran (Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthi's, Iraq, Syria). Another possible date this could happen on is 1/15/2024. The original siege on Jerusalem in 588 BCE was on Jan. 15 based on the information I could find.
