Christmas spirit sees interest in sex soar

Christmas is a time for nookie as interest in sex soars explaining why there is a mini baby boom nine months later in September, scientists said.

It had been thought longer winter nights in the northern hemisphere explained why there was more babies born in late summer as people were cooped up indoors.

But US and Portuguese scientists found the peak in sex was linked to the Christmas spirit and feelgood factor generated by the religious festival rather than being driven by human biological need.
