In this video Scott explains the difference between a fall of a resident at a Nursing Home versus when you are working at a nursing home and fall down while 'on the job' at the nursing home and sustain an injury.

The short answer is that any injury or harm that comes to a Nursing Home resident is a Nursing Home case that goes to the Courthouse. Nursing homes have a duty to care for their residents, take appropriate precautions, and generally make sure that people who cannot care ofr themselves are taken care of by the nursing home staff -- and ultimately, that the rich nursing home owners and their insurance company.

But if you work at a nursing home and fall, that is probably going to be covered under Illinoi's Workers Compensation laws. These laws protect people who are injuured in "ther course and scope of employment" and will provide benefits for time off work, necesary medical care, and a sum to compenste the injured worker for the change in their body as a result of the injuries. Two other things to know: first, there is PLENTY of other things you might be eligible for under Wokrers Comp depneding on your injuries; and two, the Company can fight and delay and deny your benefits.
