On Wednesday, October 25, Hurricane Otis struck near Acapulco, situated on Mexico’s southern Pacific coast, at 1:25 a.m. CDT, boasting Category 5 strength with sustained winds reaching 165 mph. The storm rapidly gained intensity just off the coast, and according to the National Hurricane Center, Otis stands as the most powerful hurricane to hit land in the Eastern Pacific during the satellite era. Its swift intensification, with wind speeds soaring by 115 mph within a mere 24 hours, left the more than one million residents in and around the city with scant time to prepare for the impending monstrous storm.

Strategic Response Partners deployed the day after Hurricane Otis made landfall, alongside our premier emergency service vendors. We brought in our team of urban search and rescue paramedics, private security personnel, structural and mechanical engineers, water restoration experts, roofing crews, and general contractors to assist in the rebuilding process after the disaster.
