The serpent came into the garden to bring down humanity. This contest has continued throughout history, culminating in the dragon’s demise at the cross. Through history, Christ engages and takes down the dragon that seeks to take control of humanity through centralised power. The dragon in Revelation is an example, who tried to wipe out the first century church, to continue its policy of enslaving the nations. But Christ and the early church won that battle. Today, once again we are engaged in such an encounter. While the media impresses upon the people fear for 2024, we know the time of the dragon’s demise is once again at hand. 2024 is the year of absolute victory for the people of God and his gospel in the nations, when the dragon is crushed under our feet.
