Ilyushin Il-62MGr visiting Switzerland

A rare guest in Switzerland: last January 28th an Ilyushin Il-62MGr aircraft (cargo version of the Il-62M liner) of the Belarusian airline Rada Airlines landed at Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg airport (BSL/LFSB). This is a rare guest not only for Europe, but also for the rest of the world. This Il-62MGr (tail number EW-450TR) was built in 1985 as a passenger aircraft and flew for the GDR company Interflug, Uzbekistan Airways (UK-86576) and even Panafrican Airways (again UK-86576) . In 2007 it was converted into a cargo version at the Kazan Aircraft Production Association (KAPO) in Kazan and currently only three examples of this type exist. The reason for the visit? According to European observers, it would be the transport of goods and medicines for Syria
