Archaeologists Unearth 4,000-Year-Old Palace in Ancient Chinese Walled City

In the heart of an ancient walled city, archaeologists have revealed the remnants of a 4,000-year-old palace, shedding light on China’s rich history.

Located at the significant archaeological site of Xinmi in Henan Province, central China, the discovery was reported by the state-run news agency Xinhua.

Believed to have been constructed during the Xia dynasty (approximately 2070-1600 B.C.), an early Chinese dynasty steeped in legend, the ancient walled city of Xinmi has been under investigation for several years.

Situated on the eastern bank of the Zhenshui River, the city encompasses a rectangular area spanning approximately 17 hectares, Newsweek reported.
