Chief Meteorologist Elaina Rusk forecasts slight snow chance in Kern County tomorrow

The Bakersfield Fire Department and PG&E are partnering in an effort to prevent holiday hazards by conducting a live-fire Christmas tree safety demonstration to show how a dry and improperly maintained tree can easily catch fire.  Those clouds are coming ahead of a cold front that will sweep over the state tomorrow. The most noticeable elements of this storm will be in the increasing clouds and winds tomorrow morning, with a chance of rain tomorrow afternoon. But keep in mind that we have been so dry for so long and relatively warm, with highs about 10-15 degrees above average for weeks, that it will be hard for the south valley to see much rain accumulation. I think Bakersfield will get a few hundredths at best. But the mountains could get about a tenth of an inch of rain!
