Original Art (analog collage) by: Amber Williams
Original Music by: Jeff Tady

When I was staying with my mother, Autumn 2015—Spring 2016, I created three of my favorite collages. Eventually, I was ready to move back into my house, and I asked Mom to choose one collage to keep. She chose this one—a good choice! The composition is based on nostalgic memories of an oak tree I used to climb in the back yard. The tree and its winding branches no longer exist, as it was uprooted by very powerful winds one summer during my teenage years. Those winds also curled the roof of our house up like a sweet cake roll, or at least so said the neighbors, before the flat roof dropped back down. We were out at the time, renting videos from Blockbuster Video. We came back to quite a mess, including drenched carpet... Mom and Pops have since moved, and Mom’s Tree hangs in their home. Truth be told, because I tend to gift art more than anything else, their home is like an Art by Amber Williams Gallery. I can’t give them more; it’s already embarrassing.

Music is by Jeff Tady and used with his permission. He’s not on social media anymore, otherwise I would tag and gush. For the editing of these three favorites, I wanted to give that Dizzy Spell feeling. It’s a very nice, early tune of his, composed long before we ever met. You can find some more of his music on Bandcamp: https://singsoon.bandcamp.com
