In our New Year’s Day special, I pick the international story from 2023 that I think might have the greatest effect on 2024.

I chose the story that Nigel Farage’s Reform UK has announced it will challenge the Tories in every seat at the next general election.

This could mean that the UK Conservative Party — “the world’s oldest political party” — might never form a government ever again.
