Blood donations are needed in Michigan.

Versiti Blood Center of Michigan says hospitals in the state are short around three-thousand units of blood and they are urging people to donate as the year ends. Versiti's Ashley Minor says during her more than a decade career in the industry, this is the lowest turnout of donors in December that she has seen.
