Adding to the distress, the UK still refuses to return my American child over a year later. Instead, Justice Lieven has directed that my son be placed with his Aunt in Florida, who, in writing, has expressed an intention to return him to his mother. The grandmother, Nancy Makanui, who aided in the abduction, resides with the aunt.

I am resolute in preventing my son from being victimized again. No responsible American court would endorse such a reckless foreign order. A lawsuit against Coventry City Council is pending, and despite the gravity of the situation, the West Midlands police department has yet to charge Christine Hillier with any crime, presumably to avoid scrutiny. It is disheartening that all involved parties seem to carry on as if none of this ever happened.
