The Cosmological Argument (with children), Part 4: Did the Universe itself have a beginning?

Part 4 is in two parts:
(i) a discussion and
(ii) a fun game that illustrates why it is silly / absurd / impossible for something in the universe to not have a beginning.

Part 4 (i)
A conversation with some facts about groups of people who believe that the universe had a beginning: people who believe in the Big Bang, Christians, a top Mathematician making observations about nature and science and Philosophers. We talk about why people from these groups believe that there had to be a beginning.

After this we have a game based on an example by Peter S Williams which illustrates how absurdities arise when there was no start event. The children can easily see the absurdity (silliness and nonsense) that arises in the scenario that we act out. We can easily see how the problem with our example is due to the lack of a beginning.

The game is interactive and fun and critically it helps the children join the dots between a a key concept and a worked example.
