“Hearing and Sending on the Message”
1st In our series the Prophet Micah

I. The Prophet from a small town - Micah 1:1
* A. The Word of the LORD heard by Micah
* 1. He faithfully recorded the Word of God he received
* 2. He brought the Word of God to the peoples of both nations, Israel and Judah (the only prophet to do so)
* B. He was not afraid of the reactions by the people when his message from the Lord was one of judgment
* 1. Israel would be destroyed by Assyria and go into captivity never to return 
* 2. Judah would be destroyed by Babylon and eventually return from captivity to the Promised Land

II. The Times in which Micah ministered - 775 to 720 B.C.
* A. Two Kings of Israel (northern kingdom)
* 1. Pekah - evil king was assassinated, 2 Kings 15:23-31 
* 2. Hoshea - evil king, imprisoned his kingdom destroyed by the Assyrians, 2 Kings 17:1-8
* B. Three Judaean Kings (southern kingdom)
* 1. The Good king Jotham - 2 Kings 15:32-34
* 2. The Bad king Ahaz - 2 Kings 16:1-5
* a. Child sacrifice
* b. Idolatry - 2 Kings 16:10-12
* c. Conjuring - 2 Kings 16:15
* 3. The Best king Hezekiah- 2 Kings 18:1-8
* a. He followed the Lord personally
* b. He led Israel to follow the Lord, 
* c. He purged the land of its idolatrous shrines
* d. He ended child sacrifice

III. We are the Kings and Priests of the Most High God - Rev. 1:4-6
