This is what a successful Sysex update should look like. If you get flashing lights you need to slow down transfer rate or try file again.

HOW TO CHECK VERSION INFO:

1. Hold buttons Song+System+BPM on power up

2. This puts 307 in test mode.

3. Release buttons.

4. Wait 5-10 seconds.

5. System Ver # and Hardware Ver # will be displayed.

6. Switch unit off to exit test mode.

Note: There have been no CPU/ROM changes since the 307 was released (as of Sept. 2005)

So even new units will have Ver 1.0 as hardware version.

Latest System ver # is of course 1.03

FACTORY RESET

Press SYSTEM, then F2 (UTIL). CURSOR DOWN to FACTORY RESET and press F1 (FACT). Press F4 (EXEC).

MC-307 Updating Program and Data

1. Connect power of all units and check that power is on.

2. Use MIDI cable to connect out of sequencer to in on MC-307

3. Turn on the MC-307 holding down [F1] [F4] and [RHYTHM PART VIEW] buttons --- appears on the screen.

Updating program

1. Press buttons R and 3 in this order

2. (sys) appears on the BPM display

3. Upload files S0000001.mid to S00000032.mid in this order.

Updating data

Turn OFF and Repeat process of powering on the MC-307 holding down [F1] [F4] and [RHYTHM PART VIEW] buttons --- appears on the screen.

1. Press buttons [5] and [7] in this order

2. [dAt] appears in the BPM display

3. Upload files D0000001.mid to D00000032.mid in this order

During updating the MIDI indicator goes on and off, and part mute buttons are lit in the order from R, 1 to 7.

Then Slave indicator goes on and off. Loading of one file is then completed.

It takes approx 40 seconds to upload one file.

After all files are updated, turn off the power and then on to confirm version and checksum.

Perform factory initialize
