Thompson Rivers University instructor and Nipissing University graduate Julio Viskovich have been awarded the prestigious Dr. James Jamieson Award for the Most Influential Alumni. He is a former marketing professor at the Sauder School of Business at UBC and Simon Fraser University. After working as Microsoft's senior sales and marketing trainer in Canada, Julio worked at Canada's Billion-dollar social media startup company Hootsuite where Forbes.com named him one of the top 30 social media influencers of 2014. Mr. Viskovich has modernized the marketing department at Thompson River University by adding social media and digital marketing courses. In addition, He has authored 2 books on Amazon and was featured by TED Talks for his talk on inspiration and perseverance.
