SpaceX Falcon Heavy launches X-37B plane, one of the US military’s secrets

SpaceX’s formidable Falcon Heavy rocket made a triumphant return to the skies on Thursday evening, tasked with launching a secretive spacecraft for the US military engaged in cutting-edge research.

Departing from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida at 8:07 p.m. ET, the rocket transported the military’s autonomous and uncrewed X-37B space plane to unprecedented altitudes.

The entire launch was broadcast live on SpaceX’s website, and the side boosters executed a successful return to Earth, safely touching down.

The destination of the space plane remains shrouded in mystery, CNN reported.
