US lifts ban on imports of latest Apple watch

Following an emergency appeal by Apple, the latest smartwatches, Series 9 and Ultra 2, are now permitted to resume sales in the United States.

The tech company sought intervention after a patent dispute led to the cessation of sales for these devices.

The U.S. trade body had previously prohibited the import and sale of Apple watches incorporating technology for blood-oxygen level readings, prompted by allegations from device maker Masimo, who accused Apple of both talent and technology poaching.

Despite Apple expressing strong disagreement with the initial ruling, the White House chose not to reverse the ban on sales and imports of the Series 9 and Ultra 2 watches, which took effect recently, the BBC reported.
