Rep. Lauren Boebert Announces Bid for Colorado's 4th Congressional District in 2024

Rep. Boebert has announced a significant decision that she will be running for a different congressional district in the upcoming 2024 elections. The two-term representative, known for her vocal conservative stance, currently serves the 3rd Congressional District, spanning Colorado's Western Slope into Pueblo and southeastern regions.

In a video shared on Facebook on December 27, the 37-year-old lawmaker revealed her intention to seek the Republican nomination for Colorado's 4th Congressional District. This district covers Weld County, Douglas County, and all of eastern Colorado, currently represented by Rep. Ken Buck, who declared in November that he would not seek reelection in 2024.

Boebert emphasized that this decision was not made lightly, stating, "Today I’m announcing my candidacy for the 2024 Republican nomination to represent Colorado’s 4th Congressional District. It’s the right move for me personally and it’s the right decision for those who support our conservative movement."

She explained that after much reflection, prayer, and tough conversations, she believes this switch is the best way for her to continue advocating for Colorado, the conservative movement, and her children's future.

Boebert secured victory in the 3rd Congressional District last year by a narrow margin of 546 votes in a closely contested race against Democrat Adam Frisch, leading to a recount. The 3rd District leans 9 percentage points in favor of Republicans, while the 4th District has a substantial 27-point Republican advantage, according to The Colorado Sun.
