Angels, Allies or Adversaries, and You - Part 2 2023-02-12

Last week, we covered Angels from the war in heaven to the Exodus crossing. This Sabbath, we will take a more current look, in "Angels, Allies or Adversaries? 2." In our present age of so called "Greater enlightenment" supernatural beings, are little thought of, though their work in man, is all around us. How quickly that flippant attitude would change, if they could just encounter a session, when one speaks out of it's occupant. We've seen a little of that lately. I hope to wind this up, and In part 3. (next week), we will link the topic with the Millennium / 1000 years. We have friends who are Sabbath / Torah keepers, who have views of a strictly Earthly understanding, we will look at and weigh this against Scripture. Angels definitely fit into the picture. Theme Texts: (a.) (b.) With the Early church, as with us: {AA 90,91} “… spiritual life and power was [is] dependent on a close connection with the One by whom they had been commissioned to preach the gospel. Only as they were united with Christ could the disciples hope to have the accompanying power of the Holy Spirit and the co-operation of angels of heaven. With the help of these divine agencies they would present before the world a united front … to wage unceasingly against the powers of darkness. As they should continue to labor unitedly, heavenly messengers would go before them, opening the way;.. and many would be won to Christ. So long as they remained united, the church would go forth “fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners.” Song of Solomon 6:10.”

(c.) {19MR 164,165 } “A demoniacal spirit takes possession of men in our world. They combine … with the perverted human animal, intelligence making them human demons, detestable in the sight of God in proportion as they manifest the attributes of the satanic. Demon intelligence, by culture, will rend and destroy man formed in the divine similitude … Satan was…the highest angels next to Christ. All his beauty, and intelligence, and excellence was derived from God. … And by practice he has an ever-increasing knowledge of transgression. He has an ever-increasing energy in using that acquired knowledge. Thought is poisoned, and the force of wickedness, the abuse of his powers to hurt and destroy God’s heritage, will measure the daring of humanity, and their cruel satanic treatment of man against his fellow man. The more pain they can cause, the more complete is their work in destroying God’s heritage, and the more joy they give to the fallen apostate.”
