Foreign Ministry demands Security Council and UN put an end to Israeli aggressive policies.

Geneva, SANA- World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that the population of Gaza are facing a grave peril in light of the spread of acute hunger and desperation across the entire Strip, of which the Israeli aggression has destroyed large areas.

“21 out of 36 hospitals in the Gaza Strip no longer functioning at all, “WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus was cited by AFP as saying.

He stressed that “a grave peril is facing the Palestinians who suffer from terrible injuries, as well as those who are exposed to the risks of disease as well as hunger, as our staff working in the Gaza Strip informed us that hungry people stop the organization’s convoys in the hope of finding food.”

Ghebreyesus stressed that to supply medicines, medical supplies, and fuel to hospitals is being increasingly constrained by the hunger and desperation of people en route to, and within, hospitals we reach.

“The safety of our staff and continuity of operations depends on more food arriving in all of Gaza, immediately. My own colleagues are also being directly and personally affected by the conflict, just like virtually everyone in Gaza. I continue to receive heartbreaking news of the loss of our Gaza staffers’ family members,” he said.

The WHO Chief added “The recent United Nations Security Council resolution appeared to provide hope of an improvement in humanitarian aid distribution within Gaza, However, based on WHO eyewitness accounts on the ground, the resolution is tragically yet to have an impact.”
