YouTuber Found Remains Of Missouri Man Missing Since 2013
YouTuber James Hinkle helped police in Missouri find the remains of a man who had been missing for over a decade. Detectives from the Camden County Sheriff’s Office believe the remains belong to Donnie Erwin, 59, who was last seen on Dec. 29, 2013. Erwin’s 2002 Hyundai Elantra with a Missouri license plate was recovered from a private pond with what officials confirmed were his remains. Hinkle, who runs a YouTube channel called Echo Divers, saw a vehicle submerged while flying his drone, looking for clues into Erwin's case. After a week of searching, divers found remains at the center of the lake, which included an artificial hip consistent with the one Erwin had.
"While a forensic pathologist will have to examine the remains to determine for certain if they are indeed those of Mr. Erwin, investigators are confident the hip and remains belong to him," a Camden County Sheriff’s Department statement read. The sheriff’s office was “overjoyed with the closure this brings to the family” and thanked the “countless volunteers” who helped in the search.
