Residents of Milan are stunned by the sudden appearance of a mysterious ring of light in the sky.

Images shared on social media showed a glowing white ring in the clouds, far above the trees near the historic city in northern Italy.

Some took to social media and speculated that they may have just seen a UFO, or perhaps one of Elon Musk's Starlink satellites.

“A strange phenomenon, lights in the sky #Aliens,” one user posted, sharing a video of the light show over the city on December 27.

Another shared a photo of the sky with the caption 'What are these strange lights in the sky of Milan? Aliens? Inhuman? A gateway to Krakoa? A stargate?'

Someone else replied: 'Batman is in town'.

Stunned netizens reported they saw the bizarre event, 'dancing' in the sky, as early as December 24, but were left without answers until recently.

The lights could be seen high above the trees in Milan, as reported since at least December 24

In the end, the simplest explanation was the truth. The light show emerged from a 20,000-square-foot Christmas village in the city.

Located near CityLife, a residential and commercial hub in the city, the Christmas Village is a huge draw with a dining hall, ice skating rink and themed activities.

The lights in the sky were in fact powerful lasers projected into the sky during the event in the Allianz MiCo.

'Il Parco di Natale' claims to be the largest of its kind in Italy and runs for the entire month from December 7 to January 7.

It hosts stunning light shows, including the Star Cloud, a 'real floating wave of brilliant lights that shimmer as you pass by' and brightly lit laser performances, viewable online.

The city of Milan was lit up with fantastic festive effects this month, with spectacular light shows presented across the city in the run-up to Christmas.

Mysterious lights were seen in the skies over Morocco in September before the country was hit by a devastating earthquake, also confusing onlookers.

Blue lights were seen over Agadir at the foot of the Atlas Mountains hours before the magnitude 6.8 quake struck.

The clips could not be verified, but some speculated that they could be “earthquake lights,” a rare phenomenon believed to occur during times of seismic stress.

There is no clear consensus on the cause of earthquake lights, but there have been reports since 869 AD. reports that these appeared in the sky before the earthquakes.

Like the lights in Milan, reports say they are shaped like auroras with a white-bluish color.

Some were captured on camera during the 2022 Fukushima earthquake, viewed from different angles.

Earthquake lights were also filmed during the 2023 Turkey-Syria earthquake that killed thousands in February.
