Daily Nightly - The Monkees
37
This is one of their better songs, but at the time wasn't well accepted by their fans. Written by Mike Nesmith and sung by Mickey Dolenz. It was one of the first songs to use the Moog instrument. Mike Nesmith was the second person to purchase a Moog after the Beetles. The chords are Amajor, Cmajor, Dmajor, Emajor, which is a popular progression. It appeared on their fourth album, Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd. Nesmith wrote the lyrics as a commentary on the Sunset Strip curfew riots that occurred in 1966.
