If personality is supported partly or mainly (for most people, depending on awareness) on what one mentally and emotionally collects, should one make sure they weed out the unnecessary stuff and keep the useful information to support one's personality? Because founding the self on untruthful, or worse, even hurtful ideas, then the intellect will fiercely defend these ideas. Making it hard to pull away from them.
