Michael Manley was, or is perhaps, Jamaica's most eminent politician to date. He was charismatic, a great communicator, social justice advocate, among other numerous hats that he gracefully wore. His progressive policies were, however, derailed in the 1970's by an angry US who thought that his social democratic government and policies were aligned to the USSR.
