‘To be closer to Europe’ – Zakharova comments on Ukraine’s change of Christmas dates

‘People who believe in God celebrate Christmas to be closer to God but only in Ukraine they celebrate it to be closer to Europe,’ Russian Foreign Minister spokesperson Maria Zakharova said commenting on Ukraine’s change of dates for Christmas celebration.

Recently, Ukraine joined the West in celebrating Christmas on December 25 instead of January 7 as it traditionally has done.
