Feminist filmmaker Cassie Jaye starts to doubt her convictions as she embarks on a documentary on the contentious and enigmatic world of the Men's Rights Movement. Jaye had only ever heard of the Men's Rights Movement as a misogynistic hate group that wanted to reverse the advancement of women's rights. However, after spending a year documenting the leaders and adherents of the movement, she discovers the different ways that men face discrimination and disadvantage. The Red Pill presents an alternative viewpoint on gender equality, power, and privilege, encouraging viewers to lift the curtain, consider cultural conventions, and engage with new ideas.
