Clocked in at almost 2.5 hours.
Started xmas morning, spent an hour on it, went to xmas family get-together and spent another 1.5 hours after getting back in evening.
Too bad, didn't quite seal the deal up top —if I'd held out it was very doable—but got to be happy overall with the result. First attempt ever at a New Yorker puzzle. Hard, at least at my level.

I did this puzzle constructor's NYT syndicated Thursday puzzle last week (Pasco) and it also was a rough go out of the gate but, as with this one, once I got a toehold I found it more accessible than it seemed at first. Nonetheless a tough slog.
