A small comet gets caught up in gravity on its close approach to the sun. It appears it did not survive the encounter. These images were from NASA's SOHO satellite.

Following the comet's dive into the sun, it appears that several Coronal Mass Ejections occurred on the far side and left limb. Also filament destabilization occurred causing more CMEs after some minor solar flaring.
