Spain has decided not to join the US-led coalition aimed at protecting Red Sea shipping from Houthi attacks.
The Pentagon announced that 20 countries, excluding Spain, have joined the coalition due to Houthi strikes on Red Sea shipping.
Rising tensions in the Red Sea are marked by Houthi attacks on Israel-affiliated ships, including an Indian-flagged oil tanker.
A multinational Maritime task force, Operation Prosperity Guardian, has been established to defend ships against Houthi rebels.
Despite some disruptions, the second-largest container line, AP Moller-Maersk, is preparing to resume shipping in the Red Sea.
