Nato perustettiin 4. huhtikuuta 1949 Washington DC:ssä.
Nato perustettiin Neuvostoliiton länsimaille aiheuttaman uhan takia.
Länsi rikkoi 1990-luvulla antamansa lupauksen olla laajentamatta Natoa senttiäkään itään. Sopimukset rikottu ja Natoa on laajennettu ja Venäjän turvallisuusvyöhyke menetetään. Venäjä ei salli USA ohjuksia, varuskuntia omalle takapihalleen, rajoilleen... Kukaan ei sallisi samaa....
