Ella Ben Ami's wish to see her mother return from Gaza captivity has been fulfilled, but with her father still held hostage by Palestinian militants in the Hamas-controlled enclave, she is hoping for a 'miracle'.

Ella's parents, mother Raz Ben Ami, 57, and father Ohad Ben Ami, 55, were kidnapped from their home in Kibbutz Be'eri near the Gaza border by Hamas militants on October 7, when the group rampaged through Israeli communities and an outdoor music festival, killing and kidnapping people.

Raz was released from captivity on November 29, under a temporary truce deal between Israel and Hamas.

But her husband Ohad is believed to still be held in Gaza, along with more than 100 hostages.

Ella said that her mother was missing her father and was feeling 'broken'. She said that her mother had lost weight while in captivity and hasn't been sharing much of her experiences there.

As her father's birthday is on December 24, Ella wished for a 'Christmas miracle' that would bring her father back. Her wish comes as intensive talks are underway on a ceasefire to get hostages freed and let aid into Gaza.
