A walk around Kolomna

One of the ancient cities of the Moscow region, founded presumably in the 1140s-1160s. As an existing settlement, the first mentions are found in the source "Laurentian Chronicle" under the year 1177. During its difficult history, Kolomna was ravaged by the troops of the Golden Horde, suffered from epidemics, fires; survived the attack of the oprichniks in 1568 and the Time of Troubles.

Modern Kolomna is a large industrial, scientific and educational center of the Moscow region. There are more than 400 historical and cultural heritage sites registered here; there are museums and entertainment facilities. The sights against the backdrop of the picturesque surroundings attract a large number of tourists.
