John Chapter 6

In John 6, we see the miracle Jesus performs by feeding the 5,000.
A new narrative is being built. Jesus is drawing people’s minds back to the story of Moses leading people out of Egypt. Jesus is the Lord who fed the people the first time and he is preparing to do the same thing again.
Jesus has his disciples go around and tel everyone to sit down. The main purpose that Jesus does this is so that they can relate him back to Psalm 23. The shepherd cares for his sheep and makes sure they can lay down and are fed. Jesus is our Shepard and we depend on him to lead us.
He cares for us because we cannot care for ourselves. Our security comes from the shepherd willingness to care for his sheep. Always.
This miracle lacked nothing, it satisfied all.
