The Life of Riley was a situation comedy show centering a blue collar worker, from Brooklyn, who was portrayed as being not too bright. The radio show was a hit, which became a movie and a hit tv series in the 50's. Movie star William Bendix played Chester Riley on the radio, film and tv, with the exception the first season on tv in 1949 and one time on the radio series he was hospitalize. The actor who filled in for William Bendix on radio and took over the role in season 1 on tv was Jackie Gleason. Enjoy the show.
