Zubair Ibn Al-Awwam (RA)

Zubair ibn al-Awwam (RA) had the title of the Messenger’s ‘Hawari.’ He was one of the earliest Muslims to convert. He was also blessed with the attributes of generosity, loyalty, kindness, and so on.

Hazrat Zubair(ra) accepted Islam after Hazrat Abu Bakr(ra). He was the fourth or the fifth person to accept Islam. Hazrat Zubair(ra) accepted Islam at the age of 12. According to some narrations, he accepted Islam when he was eight or 16 years of age.

His mother was Muhammad's aunt, Safiyya bint Abd al-Muttalib. Hence Zubayr was Muhammad's first cousin and brother in law.

Zubair (RA) was a courageous man. In the Battle of Badr, he exhibited incredible bravery. The name ‘Zubair’ was a terrible fear to the adversary. He has broken the enemy’s fortifications in every fight in which he has taken part.

One of them is a story about Al-Zubai Bin Al-Awwam, the great companion of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The story was narrated by Ibn Wahab quoting Malik Bin Ans. It said Al-Zubair's wife, Asma Bint Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, used to go out so often, much to the disliking of her husband.
