Abu Bakr (RA)
Abdullah ibn Abi Kuhafa is the full name of Abu Bakr (RA). Abu Bakr is essentially his nickname. He was also referred to as ‘Siddiq.’ He was the first of the ten to die in the bulletin.

Everyone else was hesitant to adopt Islam, but Abu Bakr (RA) accepted it without hesitation. Abu Bakr (RA) was the Prophet’s (PBUH) best friend and the first caliph of Islam. He was the first adult man to embrace Islam.

Furthermore, Abu Bakr (RA) believed in Miraj (when Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) ascended to the heavens) as soon as he heard about it, and the Prophet (PBUH) bestowed the title of ‘Siddiq’ on him.

Abu Bakr (RA) fought in multiple wars throughout the Prophet’s (PBUH) lifetime. He also gave his entire fortune to the battle of Tabuk. Due to his multiple sacrifices, Allah SWT granted him Jannah.

Abu Bakr was born in 573 CE to Abu Quhafa and Umm Khayr. He belonged to the tribe of Banu Taym. In the Age of Ignorance, he was a monotheist and condemned idol-worshipping. As a wealthy trader, Abu Bakr used to free slaves.

His significant contributions included sending out 'Usamah's army, securing domestic threats and uniting Muslims during the Apostates War, prioritising and directing armies to al-Sham, and even the selection of his successor, all of which has contributed to the liberation of Bayt al- Maqdis.

Wives and Children of Abu Bakr. Abu Bakr married four wives in all. He had six children, three sons and three daughters.

He and his wife, Zaynab, had six children: Aisha, Abdullah, Asma, Abd Al-Rahman, Umm Kulthum, and Muhammad. Well known and respected even before Islam, Abu Bakr was amoung the first Muslims and companions of the Prophet

He died of age 60 years
August 23, 634 AD, Madinah, Saudi Arabia

Along with Muhammad, Abu Bakr is buried in the Green Dome at the Al-Masjid an-Nabawi in Medina, the second holiest site in Islam.
