While all attention is on "Alexa", the real snoop is your Tell-a-Vision. So many corporations will go down for illegal surveillance activities

~T edit: You'd be surprised how much deeper this gets. I loved Samsung's official statement and your being able to cover up the camera, or, and this is rich, you can used encrypted network access points" (NAP) to connect your TV to your home of office network. So, as long as you use a VPN you're safe, right?

Wrong. Too many are confused about what a VPN can and cannot do. I have no intention of going deeper into this subject here, but there are things known as "man-in-the-middle attacks. What is that? It's simply where one side of the connection is already compromised, rhe VPN creating an encrypted channel between your device and the compromised device. I'll stop here.

Question is, where are the majority of these "smart devices" (including phones, tablets, etc) manufactured? Who are their primarily investors? Who develops rhe mother boards? Who's chipsets are on the MB? See where I'm going with this?

Best idea is to use a VERY STRONG password, lower and upper case, numbers and symbols is your PW for now.
