As World War two raged around him, Oskar Schindler saw horrific things happening to the Jewish folks in his city and decided he had to help.

Oskar was a German businessman, not someone you might expect to be a hero…

But he was.

Oskar used his factories in Krakow, Poland, as a safe haven. He told Nazi officers the Jewish people working for him were “essential” to his business.

It was extremely risky, but it worked; Schindler helped save over 1,200 Jews, keeping them out of the concentration camps simply by giving them jobs.

By war's end, Oskar Schindler had made a difference.

His bravery and compassion in the face of extreme danger turned him into a symbol of hope and courage.

As we move into 2023, may we all show the courage to be kind and compassionate to others like Oskar…

A man who helped people simply because it was the right thing to do.
