Germany’s decision to sell arms to Saudi Arabia baffled many analysts given the current energy crisis in Germany – and Europe for that matter. Mr. Scholz has defended his plan – mainly new government borrowings of €200 billion ($306 billion) – to protect Germany’s economy from soaring energy bills as fair and proportionate.
One thing is sure: Scholz has proven to be a weak leader and most Germans are disappointed at his performance.
