The Mantra most used in the Tibetan tradition and associated with the Bodhisattva of compassion, which involves forgiveness and mercy.

Om mani Padme Hum (pronounced Om Mani Peme Hum).

Om-represents the presence of all Buddhas, the beginning of all mantras the consciousness itself or the light.

When we chant the Om the function is to release everything that needs to be released within us, to drive away ego, pride and attachment. This mantra also protects and creates beneficial and salutary vibrations and even teaches you to meditate in the calm rhythm and get in touch with devotion.

Mani-means the jewel of compassion, capable of fulfilling all desires. It is the sound of transformation, for the jewel of the mind (or the philosopher's stone) that puts us in touch with eternity. It also helps to close the entrance door of dense energies especially envy.

It can also be considered the subtle mind, refined and connected with compassion for all beings, in this way it creates a positive thinking pattern by making mental Hygiene and bringing a sense of happiness. And in a more advanced stage the detachment from the suffering that desires cause us.

Padme-means the lotus flower, the one that is born from the slime and blooms. That is, it is born from darkness, from where there is dirt and difficulty, it opens its flowers only after it has risen beyond the surface of the silt.

It creates positive emotions and very strong for those who have difficulties dealing with their own emotions.

Hum-this syllable represents the enlightened mind and works with a cleansing sound, dispels shadows. Eternity and helps in suffering from feelings of anger and hatred. He is the liberation from everything that is not part of or positive for our soul. It is also Infinity, Mother Earth and eternity.

The literal meaning of the mantra would be-Oh! The jewel of the Lotus, or from the mud is born the lotus flower.
