Israel-Gaza war: How a family escaped to Canada | BBC News

Mohammed Alghusain and his family had a comfortable life back in Gaza. A good job, a penthouse on the beach, the children at excellent schools. Then everything changed on 7 October.
His seven-year-old daughter Suha has diabetes. When she heard bombing close to where they were sheltering, her blood sugar level dropped so low she could fall into a coma at any moment.
Basic medical supplies such as insulin were not available and all the hospitals were full of the wounded and the dead - Mohammed knew had to leave for Canada, this meant leaving his parents behind.
Hamas says nearly 20,000 Palestinians have been killed since the conflict began. Those surviving have very little access to food, water, and medical supplies.
