CREW is the Left-wing pressure group that has vowed to take down Trump, and CREW is challenging ex-president's 2024 election attempt after backing Colorado state ballot case for Capitol insurrection. Critics have accused it of political “lawfare” and hypocrisy, because neither Crew nor most of Mr Brock’s groups have been forthcoming about their financial backers.

However, the website InfluenceWatch has claimed that Crew has received funding from Left-wing groups including the philanthropist George Soros’s Open Society Foundations and the singer Barbra Streisand’s Streisand Foundation.
