Gaza (QNN) – The Israeli Channel 12 revealed today that Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) military vehicles and tanks were behind the shelling of the homes of Israeli settlers in the Be’eri settlement—to the east of the Gaza Strip—during the Hamas-initiated Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7, 2023.

According to the channel’s report, translated by QNN, approximately 500 IOF soldiers were present in the settlement near the Gaza Strip but did not participate in the ongoing battles despite the pleas and distress calls from the settlers.

Around 4:40 pm on that day, the report says, after more than nine hours of hundreds of Palestinian resistance fighters storming the settlement, fires broke out in entire neighborhoods within the settlement, as documented by the report.

The report documented the overwhelming number of resistance fighters who seized control of the settlement, along with the IOF tank that assisted the forces in a targeted strike on the Bessy family residence.

It highlighted that shells were fired at the house by one of the tanks, showing a lack of concern for the fate of the Israeli prisoners. The IOF soldiers simply signaled that no harm would come to them, expressing their intent to destroy the walls of the houses in the settlement.

According to the channel, the footage raises questions about the IOF’s conduct and the justification for deploying tanks near the Bessy residence, where 15 Israeli prisoners were reportedly held. The sight of a tank rolling through the streets of Be’eri, accompanied by intense gunfire and massive explosions in the area, is described as unusual.

The report also documented the testimonies of some settlers who were injured by shrapnel from the IOF tank shell fired towards the houses in the settlement.
